Job Summary
A supervisor oversees and manages a team or individual to ensure that they are performing effectively and
safely in their role. Oversees the day-to-day performance of employees. Building a culture to sustain and retain
employees.

BEAM PUMPING UNIT ("PUMP JACK") Experience Required**

Responsibilities
  • Manage workflow:
    • Oversee their team’s workflow, or the tasks required to complete a job.
    • Scope job locations, build job plan to support crew(s) success
    • Work with client & Lufkin management to have issues resolved on upcoming job locations before crew(s) are dispatched
    • Debrief with crew on jobs completed & In Progress, identify gaps work solutions with client and Lufkin management
    • Define goals, communicate objectives, and monitor team performance.
  • Train new hires
    • Help new hires understand their role and support them during their transition.
    • Ensure they attend safety orientation and explaining company policies or job duties.
    • Work with the human resources department to make sure the new hire receives the guidance and information they need.
  • Manage team schedules
    • Ensure employees are reporting on time as scheduled.
    • Monitor and approve timecards.
    • Report any time discrepancies to HR if unable to correct.
  • Partner with HR and Senior management
    • Report team and individual performance to human resources and senior management.
    • Evaluate each member of your team and record employee punctuality, performance on goals, professionalism, disciplinary issues, adherence to company policies and more.
    • You may also be required to develop and administer performance improvement plans.
    • Be involved with Senior management, understand the why for change, give honest feedback, once a new direction has been set be committed. Share changes with individual teams.
    • Work Standardized Daily Improvement (SDI) submitted by your teams
  • Evaluate performance and provide feedback
    • Executing employee feedback
    • Work with employees on assisting with their goals, example CDL license.
    • Provide both positive and constructive feedback as needed.
    • Identify and apply career advancement opportunities
    • Challenge the norm, involve management when something can be improved on. Don’t just pass it off and walk away be the champion, run it to completion
  • Resolve and help with employee issues/disputes
    • Supervisors must use active listening skills to understand employee complaints.
    • If an employee complains that another employee or member of management has violated company policies, the supervisor needs to report the issue to HR for an investigation.
    • In the case of minor disagreements between employees, supervisors may act as mediators and help the two parties come to a resolution.
  • Safety Accountability
    • Make sure your team understand Stop Work Authority actions and safety compliance by Lufkin and customers standards
    • Conducts scheduled and surprise inspections
